  • Foreign Objects in Food

I seem to be really unlucky and am always finding gross or weird things in food.
I have just found a piece of white broken off plastic in my well known veggie branded rostie thing.

Needless to say a letter of complaint with attached piece of plastic is being sent off tomorrow.

Might get me some vouchers, it sometimes does if you make enough noise!

Whay weird things have you found in your food? (not home made!)

Dont worry about tomorrow, live for today

My friend bought a " Vegetarian" ready-meal thingy from a well known range and it had big bits of very non-veggie chicken in it!

i used to work in a food testing lab, and we used to get things supposedly found in food, with anything absorbent you can tell whether it has been through the full processing of the food, or whether it was added after ....... bits of plastic are a bit dodgier lol .... but we could usually tell where something like a beetle or toenail had entered the food procees,(beginning or end) you'd be surprised how many disgusting things we had come through lol ....... insects , mice, other bits of dead animal, plasters, etc etc, and then people wonder why i very rarely eat processed food lol

lmao .... actually never found anything dodgy in cheese doritos, we used to test the flavouring, by sticking it in some special liquid and incubating it, after 24-48 hours the smell of doritos was disgusting......... so sorry for ruining your snack, you can rest assured though that doritos flavouring is safe to eat ..... as are all the walkers flavours

I used to work in a celery factory as a uni holiday job. have never been able to stomach the smell of celery since, let alone eat it... and grow it - NO WAY!

Dead mouse in a loaf of bread once. A screw inside a can of beans and glass in a packet of crisps. Got some folded meat from a local shop and when I unfolded it there was hundreds of fly eggs on the inside of it so I never went back there.

I once bought some 'freeflow' frozen mince, and found a scrap of cowskin in it (got money back PLUS replacement packet, but rather went off economy mince after that)

We had a meal at a veggie restaurant in Brum once and whilst eating my salad i bit on something really hard, it was a six inch screw! Ouch.
