Before I grew my own veg ( years ago ) I bought a packet of frozen mixed veg from Iceland and found a snail, complained at the shop and was told it was to be expected. After I calmed down I was offered a bottle of wine, no thank you, well would you like £10yes please and also would you like us to pass on your comments to head office, yes please, in the post arrived £25 voucher to spend in the store. Didnt buy any veg though.
    Still dont shop there.

Not my food but the guineapigs.....Our last batch of hay came complete with a dried up bit of(from what we could workout)dead rabbit!
A mate at school once had a topic without any nuts....they wrote & complained & got a whole box sent to them.

Feeling decidedly queasy now! Years ago I remember my mum finding loads of weevils in a new packet of Grapenuts, and when she complained she was sent a huge box (I can still remember it arriving!) of Birds Dream Whip (hmm, not sure if I've got the name right there, but you can still buy it), which none of us liked! She also got vouchers, so it was worth her while. It didn't put me off, I love Grapenuts!

I found a lump of plastic in some Quorn mince just after Xmas, still haven't sent it back, but have it ready to do so. Small fry compared to some of these horror tales!

I think I just really like getting all pompous and writing the letters. I can write a stonker! Have even written them for friends too scared to complain.

I found some hard lump this in some cereal, sent it back and they analysed it. I got vouchers, complained about some coffee drink for my mum that only turned out to make half a mug, they told me to put 2 sachets in. I argued back...This went on for months til I got loads of vouchers and a cook book. Complained about them changing the caramac recipe and got vouchers. Complained about some pop socks that were all ripped upon opening and got vouchers from tesco and the manufacturers. Can't rememeber the rest but most of them were done as a student when clearly I had way too much time on my hands! lol

I worked in a restaurant when younger and the 'chef' opened a catering size tin of mushrooms. It had a perfectly preserved stag beetle in it. He threw it away and served up the mushrooms..... YUK.

When did they do that? I haven't had one in years but used to love them when the kids were small.

We found a tiny caterpillar inside the sealed packet of Kellogs Just Right cereal once - wrote a letter (didn't think sending caterpillar through the post was kind - it moved when we prodded it so wasn't dead) and got vouchers. This cereal is always now referred to as Caterpillar Cereal.

Oh the things us horsey types find in hay! Thankfully the worst I've found is half a grass snake and a gauntlet glove (thankfully minus hand).

Recently I've been eating Black Peas, as only found in Bolton it seems (my Mum bought them for me). The last bag I kept finding bits of GRANITE in! I can only assume they added it to make it weigh more, but I was lucky not to break a tooth!!

Unless that's some kind of thing they grow it in? For Drainage?
My brother once damaged a tooth in a restaurant on some cherry cheesecake. I now that was the reason I always go for the cho desserst lol
