  • i've just had a brilliant idea

was washing some spuds, well running water on them in a bucket, and realised how much i hate washing them, ..... so i've got them on a quick cold wash in the dishwasher .... wonder if it'll work or i'll be dishwasherless??

Years ago I heard of a way of cooking a whole salmon in a dishwasher. It involved loads of tinfoil ......

Can't remember temperature or time though.

oh yeah, hadn't thought of that, but was thinking if it works, i can just dig up all my veg and stick em in at once, therefore saving the sinkfuls of water, i'd use doing em in the sink

I have a peeler gadget for the Kenwood chef which I use when left with just wee spuddies that are a real pain to peel by hand. It is kinda noisy though.

Lynda, even if you didn't put a tablet in there will still be salt and rinse aid in the machine (if you remembered to fill them up when they wink at you)!

Why don't you go the whole hog and pop them in your bath water when you get out of it? They will be nice and clean for the next day

Won't the soil bung up the pipes/tubes/wotsits?

salt? rinse aid?? ....... i just stick a tablet in ..... my dishwasher has never winked at me

now bath water would be ok, but you have to swish em round still

anyway, i now have a batch of lovely clean spuds, and the dishwashers not broken

I'm most impressed (i did rub the soil chunks off first, so no tons of mud in the bottom) .... sometimes i have great ideas ..... tis definitely one for permanent use

i was worried about the washing machine bruising them chilli, i can't eat em all that quick

probably lol ....... but there wasn't tons of soil on em, and it's not leaked all over the kitchen so not blocked yet
