The daffs and tulips are coming through, the crosuses are flowering in the tubs and pots and round the trees.
Yesterday morning at 9 it was -3, about half an hour ago, when I opened up, it was -6.TonyF, Dordogne 24220

there's a collared dove in my front garden, collecting twigs & scraps for nest-making. They've started cooing at five in the morning too (oh joy )

Two daffs in blossom for the past week, and they are outdoors.
Leaves are opening on my plum tree.
Crocuses are also in bloom.
Weather mind and sunny, all good signs for the coming of spring.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

There are buds on several of my Dad's trees, hundreds of Rabbits around Pigeons and Doves everywhere, really noisy Woodpecker down the end of the lane, and as for fighting Blackbirds, I should sell tickets lol!
I think spring is on its way
Ooooh, just remembered, my Mum found the dead body of an old, dark grey fox across the front field at the weekend, so hopefully my Chooks are a little safer now. The old dear had been patrolling this area for years!Last edited by Glutton4...; 16-02-2009, 09:23 PM.All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment

Tulips, daffodils, crocuses and snowdrops up but not yet flowering.....Never test the depth of the water with both feet
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....
Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

The daffs are up and OH said this morning that he could smell spring in the air - probably getting a cold!
We don't get doves around here just flying rats who have been making the worst racket since november although I will admit they have been getting more insistant this last week(and seemingly earlier, approx 5am)
I'm all out of sorts - I missed winter. Because of family problems I've spent the time in a country that only does 3 seasons; spring, summer (severe drought) and wet - I got wet.
I would miss our defined seasons - suprisingly (or not) a lot of british expats I spoke to said the same

It's just gorgeous here today. Lovely warm sunshine.
The snowdrops are flowering. The daffs and tulips are well up.
The sparrows are trying to kill each other.
The pigeons are doing show off arial acrobatics.
Guess they think it's spring.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

feels like spring here too, but would like it to stay at this level for a few days so that I can clear the winter weeds, before the spring ones grow!!!!
