  • Can you help me with a dilemma?

I need to prioritise this list, I have re-arranged it many times, but it needs to be brain-stormed/mind-mapped with your help - as follows:

    1) Housework (bearing in mind I am borderline OCD)
    2) Play with kittens (bearing in mind they are cute)
    3) Do paid-for work (bearing in mind we don't eat if I don't work)
    4) Study (bearing in mind my final is in June)
    5) Garden (bearing in mind it is nearly spring)

    Ta muchly in advance

If it were me, heres what I'd do....

    1) Paid for work (you gotta eat)
    2) Garden (you could always work part time and spend time in the garden growing veg which will reduce the amount you need to earn)
    3) Play with kittens (you deserve a rest after all that hard work and gardening)
    4) Study (so you can maybe get a better paid job and then can afford to work less hours so you can spend more time in the garden or with aforementioned kittens)
    5) Housework (with all the above going on you won't notice any mess in the house, and if you do you'll be too tired to care!!)

play with kittens whilst doing housework, feather dusters are good for that and whilst gardening, and when studying and doing paid for work attach dangly toys to your chair arms, so they can play while you work

and fit the rest in in between playing with kittens

Get paid for work out of the way - you will feel sooo virtuous
Play with kittens till they are nackered
Study for an hour when they are asleep - hence getting them nackered
Pootle in garden with a clear conscience

Housework??? ask OH nicely to do it

          Maslow would say...

          Paid for work
          Gardening
          Kittens
          Study

And get a cleaner - it puts cash into the local economy.

I'd put Kittens into Love/belonging personally....and gardening is next to keeping a roof over your head so it comes second...

Who the F is Maslow And he doesn't mention checking the weather forecast... Coz if it's dry today and raining tomorrow, then the gardening has to be today and the indoor stuff can be done tomorrow

No 2 first, cause your kittens are cute. Then no 3, paid work. After that no 2 cause your kittens are cute. A little while later no 4, definately time to study. Then no 2, you can't ignore your kittens. Afterwards no 5, too cold to be doing much in the garden. Oh, then no 2 again. Finally no 1 housework. Leave this till last cause your kittens will probably mess up your nice, neat house playing.

first thing is to take your time and enjoy life. I believe that you must prioritise as follows. 1, paid work, you need to live and would be in dire straights if you lost your work. 2. Study for an hour or two as you will get more qualifications and perhaps a better job. I the kittens come in then play but temper it. 3. House work though boring is a necessatity after all if you leave it to long you could catch a bug that knocks you right of your feet. 4. Garden as and when, plant out as you need the break from study and work and plan some me time. 5. Play with the kitties as and when as it will not be long before they grow up and go thier own way. At the end of the day tis your choice and, providing your happy, do just what please's you but some things are important.

Now whilst I would never ever (usually) post content from a PM - I just got this from my Sis LJM and it made me laugh and thought it should be shared

                          Nice one Sis

                          Housework no problem
Next time all the little helicopters are taken off and landing at bottom of garden open all the windows and doors, hey presto all your vacuuming and dusting done (put cats some where safe first)

I would go along with Novice Gardener. Housework is lowest priority. Remember that if you do what is urgent, by tomorrow some other things will have become urgent, and others will have become irrelevant, so carry on doing the urgent stuff.
Housework is rarely urgent, unless it has been neglected for several days (and if lucky, OH will do it before that stage<g>)
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
