    Plastered? A drunken gnome?

Aw, Glutton, have you no heart??

My OH's Dad looks like a gnome, quite like your Sir Mortimer, actually, but his beard is wilder! Hope he's back in his Sunday best, soon!

I've no idea what kind of paint is best but good luck with getting your gnomework done!

i had one given me a few years back,he still resides beside the front door, the cheeky little chappie even wolf whistles when it's a nice day,for some reason the cold wet affects him,one day DH was out near the door when a young woman went by,and it did it,she gave a look and scurried on,and DH said i hope she not think it was me,i laughed,i thought it very amusing
