Well after a lot of ooooing and arrring....we finally got a satnav, it is a garmin NUVI, in pink I am loving it lol, the kids think its a scream, thanks to everyone's help, including beefy's. Easy peasy, now I can come visit grapes!

Friends of mine got a present from their daughter - a Sat Nag. I thought first they were mispronouncing it, but it's just a thingy you put in the car and a woman's voice keeps rabbiting on at you.

Garmin customer service are excellent if you have any problems just give them a call . Call centre based in Southhampton - I've had to ring them twice about mine and both times it's been sorted quickly and with no hassle .

Mine has an american guy who I like to call Brad telling where to go. OH had Yoda and then Austin Powers but I prefer Brad. I can't concentrate when he tells me to take the third exit lol

Oh, oh, oh!!! I think sat-nav's are the most amazing things!Microwaves, digi thingy's. mobile 'phones etc. you can keep them all but that calm voice when you have set out into God knows where must be the best invention ever. No matter how many times you panic and go wrong on multi-lane motorways,take the wrong turning or go left instead of right. NO_ONE IS GOING TO CALL YOU A FOOL OR SAY YOU NEVER LISTEN!!
I think you understand now that the only companion(apart from dogs and small grandsons) that I need on a long journey is a sat-nav. Enough said!
