Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time Tootles. I expect Mr T is not enjoying it either. Often those at home have plenty to occupy them and the person in hospital has the boring daily routine where someone dropping a bed-pan is the highlght of the week! Make little notes as the day goes on, take a few pics as Nicos suggested. Then you'll have things to share when he does get home.

Thinking of you all with crossed fingers for a good outcome.

When I was five years old the hospital my dad was in was at the end of our road and children were not allowed to visit unless they were 12, but if me and my sisters who were 9 amd 10, stood on the lawn outside while mum went in he would come to the window and wave to us. He was very ill and died when I was six so that time was very precious. Later when I was 11 my mum was in for a few weeks I used to visit her and she said if anyone asks you are 12, the funny thing about that was everyone was local and knew us anyway but I got away with it.
I do hope you can find someway of getting to see him.

Oh Tootles, poor you (((((hugs))))) - I know just how sad and boggy I'd feel in your situation - like Nicos, I miss my hubby even whilst he's out at work , so I can imagine how hard it must be. I hope the time passes swiftly for you all, and that his recuperation is swift, and back problems sorted. My OH is fond of quoting something that his Grandad used to say - 'Everything comes and goes', which is a better quote for the bad times than the good of course, but is very true!

Take care, keep smiling and enjoy the seeds and the manure!!

Nicos - you are a complete darling!!!!
I do have a good stash of 'real' tea (not that French muck) and a very useful small daughter who makes the tea too.
I have just packed the children off to watch some (not very) educational dvd that came from McD's and am about to crack on with my knitting in front of the woodburner. I will go in to visit tomorrow, if I can ditch the sprogs with a friend.
Thank you all for you lovelinesses.
                Tx
