Knitters - help

I have just spotted a dropped stitch.....
Unfortunately it is 10 rows down from where I am working. I have put a bit of spare yarn through the loop, is there anything I can do to sort it without unraveling 10 rows of hard-knitted cardi?? (each row takes me about 10 mins to do!) I had thought that I would just tie it in with the spare yarn (to the horizontal bar above) perhaps a small knot on the wrong side wouldn't be too obvious?? the whole piece is quite chunky and garter stitch.

You need a crochet hook.

Then you can crochet your slipped stitch back up its ladder to the row that you are currently on.

Yes I looked at that, but for some reason I didn't notice when I dropped it and have knitted 10 good rows above (even adding another stitch because I noticed I was one short!) It hasn't run and is just sitting there 10 rows down. There isn't a hole there because I have lifted it and held it in place with the spare yarn.

If I were you .. I would bodge it then: tie a knot and weave the ends into the wrong side of the work

You can still do it with a crochet hook. You take the stitch up a row at a time. Difficult to explain but it works.

It started out as the first jumper, but the yarn was too chunky, now I think it will be the jumper size and shape but with the front in two pieces like the cardigan (but with the jumper neckline - a bit lower) I am half way up the back piece (substituting moss stitch for the pattern given) and am now trying to work out how to add moss/seed stitch to the neck line......................... I thought to k1 p1 etc for the last 6 stitches on each row might work??

My mum uses the crochet hook method, but I've never been able to do it myself - probably because I knit right handed, but crochet with my left. If necessary I take mine to mum to sort out. It does work and although I can always tell where it's been done, no-one else seems to be able to.
