  • The fence attacked me...

I have been putting in a fence in my back garden to split the garden in two. Back for the Veg and Chooks and the front for the kids.

Was Almost finished knocking in the final post when the chock that I was using on top of the post to protect the post from the sledge hammer that I was using decided to shatter.....

I think I'm gonna have a phemomenal shiner tomorrow. Fortunately I was wearing safety glasses(although my eyeball feels buised from the glasses being knocked into it) and can see, although slightly blurred. The cut above my eye won't stop oozing and its been about an hour and a half.

Beeping fence was out to get me I tell ya. Didn't like being pounded with the sledge hammer...

Anyone else done something equally as daft recently?

Ooh, that's gotta hurt. Lucky you had the safety glasses on. I often forget / can't be bothered with them but your experience comes as a reminder as to just how useful they can be. If your not concust in any way then perhaps a bottle of red might ease your pain. Take care.

Ouch, could I suggest you pop a steri-strip on that to help keep it closed for a tidy heal

Well of course, and if you think it's doing you some good perhaps another. After all it always tells you to take two on the asparin packet.

Madmax says it might be worth a trip to A&E to check your clotting factor if it is still bleeding after that length of time. It is a highly vascular area but should have started to clot by now.

It's started to clot, however, I think due to the location, it keeps opening up. The sterri strips don't want to stick, as fast as we're drying it, its wetting the strips and they don't want to stick time for plan B :- Sterile dressing and micropore.....

EDIT: Not too keen on going to A&E....... Very painful bad experience 2 years ago!

A&E might be a good bet though - they will possibly superglue the wound - that will stop the bleeding.

Best of luck and keep the micropore away from the eyebrows!
