Well it's been a particularly crazy week But I thought I'd tell you the good news for a change!
FiL is making a great recovery from his stroke. A brain scan showed that it had occurred in an area of the brain which shouldn't have to much effect on his day to day life. His speech and movement are more or less back to normal, he just has a bit of mid-term memory disturbance, but the docs think that will settle somewhat. He has been allowed home today
My boiler, thanks to the wonderful generosity of our very own Pigletwillie who sent me a new thermocouple in the post, is now roaring away like a good 'un, just in time for the promised cold-snap at the weekend. OH only managed to fit it today, although it arrived yesterday, because he 'couldn't find the right tools'... Turned out it was because he'd loaned them out
So thank you, great mate, and for the 'cheer you up' gift which you popped in too, twas more appreciated than you can imagine.
And also, my lovely 10 year old niece (who I didn't even mention yet as it only happened yeaterday!) has coped well with a nasty emergency operation to remove a massive abcess from her neck which was misdiagnosed as Glandular Fever. She is on mega strength anti-biotics and under observation for a few days, but the outlook is good.
So, a hip-hurrah if you please, for great hospitals, doctors, nurses, and Grapes
