We (LadyWayne and I) were talking about Bean last night and about how he's likely to be a tall beggar. I voiced my concerns that I hoped he wasn't taller than me because it can cause quite a few problems.
So, I set about listing the problems, only I started with the advantages first. Do you know, I ran out of "can'ts" quicker than I ran out of "cans".
Anyway, just to prove it, here's my list:
Can:
See/be seen in a crowd
Reach the top shelf in supermarkets – even the stuff at the back
Decorate without ladders
Peek over people fences
Touch the bottom in the local swimming pool without getting your hair wet
Walk over a street bollard without crushing your bollards
Find ¾ shorts in most shops
Work your way through a crowd to the bar
See which aisle your wife is queuing in at the supermarket
Always see the screen at the cinema
Always reach the ticket machine at car parks
Gaining a little bit of weight is almost un-noticeable
Create bigger beds on the allotment because you can reach further
Wash your car roof without the aid of a step ladder
Can’t:
Holiday in a caravan/narrowboat/campervan
Blend in a crowd
See the CD’s on the lower shelves in HMV
Live in a cottage
Drive any car – especially older ones
Sleep comfortably in any bed
Drive a convertible without eye protection
Ride on a bus
Thinking positive really does work. Go on, give it a go.
