I wonder if he was actually trying to threaten you Rhona, trying the 'if you don't buy my indestructible home made shed, you'll find that a new one you may put up MIGHT be broken into'?

        Just a thought.

Definitely contact your site secretary Rhona. There should be some precedent for this. I feel he's trying it on but there will be rules somewhere. Then you can just quote the rules at him and if he wants to take it further, it's not you he has a complaint with.

              Just read this.
What a cheeky bu$$er. Tell him to sod off and take his shed with him.
I got a smashing little shed on ebay for £30.

I can only add my voice to the tell him to 'go forth and multiply' chorus! What a git!
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Thanks so so much for all your advice. You are all great and helpful as ever. Think I will chat with the allotment secretary - he's really nice - and then Mr R is going to take over. He's brilliant at stuff like this, and will be calm and cool about it.

It IS spoiling the excitement a bit though - really wanted to start doing stuff this weekend, and it's taking the shine off!

Thanks again all - really helped get my thoughts in order about it.

Hopefully you'll have it resolved one way or the other by the weekend & you'll be able to start enjoying it again. All the best.x

No...unfortunately not. The chap hasn't called back yet - been a week and a half. We haven't chased because in same time we've sold our house, and just agreed our house purchase last night. Been so hectic (why I haven't been here much) and couldn't quite face the shed thing as well!

Mr R is ringing him tonight or tomorrow, so no doubt I'll be back updating when he's spoken with him. It is really niggling at me though! Isn't he rude, not to call back at all?!

I would tell him either he gets it off your land by the weekend or he gives it to you for free, just because he's being such a pain in the neck about the whole thing. I'd honestly rather pay money for a new one than give such a guy any of my cash.

...not really...he wants £200, that's it. Unbelievable! Mr R took over negotiations and basically, he's going to come and remove the shed (he's too busy this week) rather than sell it for less than £200.

I'm really trying not to let this take the shine off the new allotment, but it would have been so much nicer to have dealt with someone, well, nicer!

                              Thanks for asking though.

I would tell to move it pronto because you have some rubbish to burn and you would not like to see it get damaged..as it is not insured and you would not like the mess only the ash....jacob
