  • Equinox and Autumn

So tonight we are all equal .....

Tomorrow things take a different slant - we (in the North) will start our decline into the darkness. Having said that I gardened today in Tshirt and shorts in a wonderful 18 degrees. Quite unusual for this far north in late September. Although it seemed strange with the sun so low in the sky, to see shadows across the garden at 2pm. I am also still harvesting beans, peas, tomatoes, carrots, lettuce and spring onions, yet the hips on the roses are bright red.

This years lambs are being gathered in the fields around us for shipping south (we seem to be a bit of a "terminus" here in Tingwall). Another sign of Autumn.

Following Tuesday's gale of Force 11 (it was nasty!!) I have repairs to do to the polytunnel and fencing, hopefully we won't get such strong winds for a little while yet.

    Been a great summer ......
