Haven't seen one this year, but I did see one in February last year. I can hardly believe though that I went to look at an allotment plot today in glorious sunshine when last week I couldn't see it because it was under six inches of snow. The bees must be as confused as I am.Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Huuuuge Bumble Bee at the Stables this morning. Snowdrops up (looooovely). A couple of Lacewings in the Lounge, (and a Gnat!) and in the Kitchen; a bl**dy housefly

At lunchtime today I was telling a fellow lottie holder about your first bee of the year, Shirley, and - damn me - if I didn't see a giant bumbler moseying around not half an hour later!
