BIG mistake!

My manure was delivered yesterday. A kind friend brought it round and dropped it off - while we were out.................

He left the whole lot on top of a flower bed, some 200 metres downhill from my plot. I have moved about 20 barrowloads this morning, and I'm not sure I'm even halfway through!!!!

I'm tired

At least I have enough to go all over the plot Most of the plot is new for this year so needs all the help it can get. I will be glad when I have finished though.

I shall make sure I am in - next time!!!

there is a saying about "shovelling sh*t" lol!! i do it daily lol!! - i dont envy you, enjoy your day and let us know when you get finished and treat yourself to a glass of wine and a hot bath

That will get you fit tootles make sure that the tyre on the barrow is well blowed up and some oil on the wheel bearing's they push a lot better that way....jacob

Ouch Tootles I had to spend a few days barrowing wood chips last year, and it was bloomin hard work. I had no slope to contend with, and the chippings were quite light, so I'm feeling very sympathetic!
Don't forget the hot bath and tiger balm later

I'm always in the manure it's just the depth that differs.

Hard work, I got some bags of soil conditioner and asked my son to help me take it to the lottie, we had to park at the end as the ground was very wet and I didnt want to get my car stuck. I borrowed a neighbouring plot holders wheelbarrow to make it easier and halfway he relised the tyres were flat. It was so funny watching him, no wonder he runs a mile when I ask for help.

Just take your time and dont try to do too much. I had 50 bags mushroom compost delivered at home a couple of weekends ago. I could only lift 6 into the car boot at a time. Slowly but surely, I got it all moved to lottie and put onto my beds. Plently of rests and cups of coffee later, it was all sorted. For someone who has a bad back and tries to do too much I was quite chuffed my back was OK. It just takes time - dont push it.

The people who do the mushroom compost here will deliver direct to the lottie site although I have never had any myself.
