I'm pretty sure it was billed as being the 'redevelopment/bringing it forward' of Sissinghurst

Surely, thats the problem, that era is why Sissinghurst is what it is and the reason it gets all the visitors it does, and understanding the gardeners mind when it was designed or planted may give some extra reasoning to what is there.

So, they finally let our Sarah (sans coat) cook one (!!) dish for the menu and then grumpy old chef says 'it wasn't selling well' BUT the others on his team said 'it went really quickly' - bet he had them on pot-washing duties all week

        Lovely series, shame it's over.

Yes I too enjoyed the series, that balloon ride at the end must have been fantastic, what a great way to view the estate.

I got the feeling that Sarah would rather be back at Perch Hill, and she's not sure if she wants to carry on at Sissinghurst, what did you think??

We watched it last night and I agree.

The place is too 'Little Britain' though...the look on the head gardener's face when Adam wanted to dig up the garden...and on his when she agreed. Brilliant.

What gets me is the chef...why lie on camera? If the food is selling just admit it!!!

I guess he just took against Sarah/any change that may threaten him (in his eyes) from the start.

But yep, he knew it was being filmed, how odd to lie

I think because he has been televised and plainly lied on record, the grumpy chef will have lost some credibility.
I have never been to Sissinghurst, but I have now planted it firmly on my list of places to visit this year, becuse it looks wonderful.

It is glorious, my in-laws live about 2 minutes drive from it and all the locals get invited to special evening openings in the summer. It's really special to go round almost on your own.

I've been recording the series on my Sky box, but haven't actually watched it yet - have to say I'm intregued now.
