Eeek, measured garden today & future plans

OK, so we were geeks this evening and got out the measuring tape and measured our garden and field... I'm dead chuffed, we have a third of an acre!

Of course, that includes the area the greenhouse, garage, shed and dog run/kennel are on, the orchard and the "side lawn" and patio... but still... I think we might have a "smallholding"

Our field is about 800 sq metres, and we're planning to use half of it as out "allotment" space, and the other half we're planting out as lawn...

We're going to have 4 beds, with wide paths between (not sure what they'll be made of), a soft fruit area (raspberries, blackberries etc) and a strawb patch, and another compost heap and the new greenhouse (as long as it reassembles...)

I feel so lucky to have all the space... even if I'm not sure what to do with it all!

Lol OWG, I have a feeling you will soon fill it, and then be eyeing the lawn with other plans, 'hmm, perhaps a smaller lawn would be easier to keep cut, then I could plant another.............', Lol!

Didn't see the words Chickens in the list OWG or Goat is this just an oversite Gloucester OldSpot pigs would look nice as well

I wouldn't mind a goat, but Mr OWG says that they don't contribute anything, and if we need something to eat grass/weeds etc that we can borrow a Shetland Pony off some friends

Although someone at work offered Mr OWG a sheep - I'd quite like a sheep!

Obviously Mr OWG has not had a freshly made crumbly goat's cheese.

Try a farmer's market or if necessary a decent supermarket.

Don't see why not. It's traditionally sheep's or goat's milk, just a matter of getting the curdling and stuff right or whatever the words are. I'm sure there must be a cheesemaking site on the web which would give that sort of info.

I have a bit of land under some trees that needs the nettles keeping down, anyone have a couple of pigs they could lend me?
