Oh 'eck, that's not good is it? I debated whether to go for Linux (less viruses etc) or XP (loads of viruses and slow), and in the end i went for XP because I wanted to network with the big PC and swap files. It is a bit slow (Intel Atom), but haven't had any viruses yet (touchwood).
Hope you get it sorted out, or just take it back and ask the shop to
