What is it With Cats?

Three of our four cats were fast asleep on the bed looking for all the world is if they had no intention of moving for the next fortnight. Until I went in the bath and inadvertantly shut the bedroom door. All of a sudden they all have urgent business that means they must be up and out of there as soon as is possible.

I finish my bath and make my way to the bedroom but can't get in because the cats have pulled up the carpet behind the door. After pushing my way through I find that half of the threads of the carpet have been unravelled and when I manage to get the carpet back in place there is a very evident bald patch.

It's bound to be my fault. Mrs snuffer will not be best pleased and I can't think of any way of hiding / camoflaging the damage.

We had to replace our bedroom carpet a while back cos of the same problem you've had, got the cats out of trouble though - blamed the dog! OH's favourite, she didn't get into trouble!

Sounds just like my lot! just let them try that with the new carpet I just had put down 2 weeks ago! So far no miss haps thank God!!!

pull the carpet up and paint the floor, then put a nice rug down ........ or how are you at relaying carpets? cut out the dodgy bit and hide it under a cupboard ..... though flums idea is definitely my favourite

You have may sympathies, although having had cats for 25 years, Ive got used to this kind of behaviour.
Ramsey and Crosby havent scragged much recently, but why, oh why, when Im in the bathroom and have shut the door (of course) do they both decide they have to come in with me?
I love them to bits and wouldnt swop them for the world, and I know you'll feel the same about yours!

Another wild giggle caused by this forum today.

My cat used to sit at the edge of the bath tube playing with water.It was ok until he slipped...After putting all the plasters I never let him to go to the bathroom with me!

We have to 'shave' our carpets top get rid of the cat scrap fluff. They still do it despite having a scratching post in every room.

Every time my OH vacuums he threatens to shave the cats never mind the carpet.

I have SERIOUSLY considered this option!!!

Our three will not tolerate any closed doors in the house - they scrape, and scrape, and scrape until they get their own way!!

I miss my cat.
My cat Crazy died last August (old age he was 17) and I was hoovering the stairs last Saturday and I noticed on the back step there was some black/brown fur where he use to lay when he was ill. I couldn`t hoover it up and I want to keep it there. My Oh thinks I should hoover it up but it reminds me of him.

I have fellow feelings, lost cats, it's hard to take out all the reminders. Why not plant something in their memory? My beloved cat Johnny died two years ago, aged 20 and I now have a "Johnnyrose" on my allotment.

And my exceedingly bad cat Cocoa managed to almost block me out of my flat. He rucked up the carpet in the hall, knocked over my wheely bag and that left me a two inch space to get in... Had to lie on the floor and get my arm round the door and manouvre the basket back and the carpet back in place.
