  • Peculiarities!

Gotta ask this, but will confess mine at the same time!
Does anyone have a certain routine when doing certain tasks? (Keep it clean!).
What I mean is - unless you havent already noticed, I always read the threads on the Vine from the bottom upwards - weather, kitchen, etc etc till I get to the top - and I always do it this way, unless there is a certain one I'm looking for.
Also, when I'm reading a magazine - GYO included - I always read from the back to the front!! (Makes it a bit tricky when reading some of the articles! LOL! ony joking!)
Does anyone else have any peculiarities like this?

OK I'll come clean ........ In a supermarket I never buy the item in the front, I always take the one behind or preferably one from the back. Drives my OH mad, but you never know who might have mauled the one in the front.

I thought everyone read magazines from the back - the pages flick that way far better.

Definitely a back to front mag reader. I usually do a new posts search then when I have read the ones I want to access the forums individually again from bottom to top.

If I'm buying a newspaper I'm one of those who roots down a couple to get one rather than take the mangled one on top. And I'm an anorak for label reading. I can't eat wheat and certain additives flare up daughter's eczema.

Fortunately I do most of the shopping by myself so OH and D can't complain. Also the first thing I do when I walk into Lidl is pick up the offers leaflet before starting my shopping.

Hi Earthbabe - I can sympathise on the no wheat - my daughter has coeliac disease (diagnosed when she was 10) so I have to make all her bread, cakes etc. She copes quite well but now and again she does get a normal cake when I feel sorry for her even though she knows she'll end up with what she calls a 'wheat attack'.

I have a morning routine...get up..go to loo...wash face and hands...put kettle on...switch computer on and check weather for day...kettle boils..make coffee...come back to computer and log on to GYO.

              Sad or wot?

I was trying to think of any peculiarities I have but couldn't think of any. I was going to ask my OH when I thought the better of it. His reply would be 'everything you do and say'

I read newspapers from back to front but magazines from front to back.

If I buy a book or magazine I never take the top copy. Even if in good condition they may have been well thumbed.

Stroke book covers when choosing the next thumping good read - and always give a new book a good sniff (non-mauled, back-of-the-pile, naturally). Ahhh, nothing like it!

Didn't realise other people did the same as me first thing in the morning - except that I drink tea! Oh and I don't check the weather! What it is, is what it is!

Hmm...where to start and how much to divulge!!!!!!

Arrive at work, get water and coffee, sit down, log on, check bbc weather and then straight on to GYO. (reading from top down)

Books I always choose from the back (although at the moment I'm strictly a library girl) as I used to work in a well known bookstore and know what customers (and staff) get up to.

Multiveg - I'm like that with cows: if I drive past a field of cows I invariably say "Good morning ladies" (only if it is actually morning!) WEIRD!

I'm completely the opposite with magazines and papers - I have to read them from front to back; like, if there's an article on the cover which I'm interested in, I won't skip to it, I'll just sit and read for longer so I can get to it. I've never understood the 'back to front reading' thing!

Loo roll and kitchen roll has to be on the dispenser coming down the front. It drives me mad if someone else puts a new one on (not often though!) and doesn't do it 'right'.

Also obsessed with checking the washing machine for cats before putting it on - bordering on OCD with that one, as I practically pull everything out again before closing the door - just in case!

Newest obsession is doing a sweep of the bedroom with a slipper in hand looking for the dreaded mosquitos which plague us! OH doesn't understand this obsession, but then they only seem to go for me!
