I too read papers/magazines from back to front, I always say thank you to the chicken that laid that mornings egg, and I have a favourite tree I acknowledge every time I pass it...my OH thinks I'm a little nuts!

I agree with you about the moon Mrs D. She is indeed beautiful and inspiring. Often spend time just gazing, although I do talk to her as well. Usually just before I go and speak to the pear tree in the garden.

On the subject of cars I have owned 2 2CVs and would dearly love another as I belong to the gosh I love them brigade. They are however like marmite.

Great fun starting them on the cranking handle too.

        The moon is beautiful tonight.

If on way to my folks, we pass allotments, I try to wave if I see someone there

A word just came into my head - Wassail. That must seem a strange practice. Info from the GardenOrganic website:

"The Morris dancers begin by saluting a special apple tree at Ryton, which is always the focal point for The Wassail. They place pieces of toast dipped in cider (made from the tree’s own apples) onto the branches to attract robins, which are said to bring good luck. And spectators then have a chance to sample some of this delicious cider for themselves."

We had one too and one night got the cranking handle out to start it, got the bonnet up and some bright spark said "don't you need to wind it up from the side"

Its amazing what you learn about Grapes on this site - David is into motorbikes, Dexter's got a car we had when OH and I first met (except ours was quite new then), Earthbabe loves 2cvs, NTG was a scout leader and Lesley has a passion for HFW. What next !

You've all made me a little weirder - I had to do some shopping last night and found myself compelled to select items from the back of the shelf! I didn't do that before I read this thread

Are you going then Nick? Think the date is mid-January?
Won't be going though I do like a good fermented apple juice.

We are a 3 car household, and all 3 of them warrant a wave to other drivers of the same car. I really like it when people wave, flash (!) or smile at me just because of the car I'm driving.

Just been told of another oddity of mine, I hate buying petrol in odd amounts of money. I always like to stop filling at say £20 or £30, not a penny more or less. Daft really as these days we always pay with plastic, so it does not matter like it used to in the days of real money.

Ooh! I do that too; I get really annoyed when it creeps over the round number!

Definitely and rescue bees from waterbutts etc and wander round looking for an open sun facing flower to deposit them on so they can dry out in the sun. I release spiders from the house so they can catch flies outside. Mind I get someone else to remove and KILL KILL KILL earwigs!

Hi Winnie, you've found me out. And I also talk to them if I have to move them to tell them that back in the soil is the better place to be, rather than under something on the patio.
