After 20 years of playing rugby, my playing days are now officially over.

A damaged anterior cruciate ligament has put paid to my playing days. Whilst in the Army I played for my Corps (Royal Engineers) all over the world, played for Folkestone and laterly my home team of Aylestone St James. I was never any good but played with a passion and loved the team spirit.

So, 1 pair of excellent, nearly new (and expensive) rugby boots, size 10, free to a good home.

Bad news. I'm very sorry for your huge disappointment. At least you have years of fond memories playing. Not much consolation now when you still want to be doing it, but still.

I had to give up ballet dancing due to an injury, but kept my last pair of pointe shoes, which were unworn. Maybe you should keep your boots, or maybe you're not as pathetically sentimental as me...

Mind you Aranthos wears size 10 shoes so there is a good chance younger son will get big feet too
