anywhere as long as theres at least 10 months of sunshine, it only rains at night and the temperature never goes lower than comfortable wearing shorts and a t-shirt on xmas day .... ie ...not here.

It HAS to be Britain. Ok we grumble about the weather, too cold, too hot, too wet, too dry, but that's what makes our country so green compared to others. Besides, all my off-spring and their off-spring are here

I would say that I would stay right here in south west scotland. It does rain quite a bit, and the winters are cold, summers slightly less so, but as someone has already said, the grass is always green, and things rarely dry out. Scotland rarely floods either, as we have great drainage, after years of coping with the rain!!!

I went on holiday to Scotland last year. It`s a beautiful place.

I think rural Cornwall sound good to me. Although really like the look of the Scilly Isles!

Guess it depends what you want to grow. If tender exotics are your thing then off to the Scilly Isles with you, but I'll take my risks with the rainfall, wind, unpredictable temperatures and stick with Cumbria.

We have been in our new home exactly one year and I just love it more and more each day (although the relationship may have felt a little strained at one point today as we've been slogging away moving what feels like tons of logs ).

I have contemplated this on many a long sleepless night along with the what would I do with my ( I don't see why it shouldn't be me) lottery winnings, �85 million from the euro lottery on Friday would be a good start

I've come to the conclusion, I quite like where I am. I like my neighbours, my son is happy in school, parents are near by, so why bother moving

What I would do is buy some land (3 or 4 acres ish) and build a semi eco house ( I say semi because there is no way I could cope with a composting loo) it would take me three/four years to get that organised and finished, by which time son will be off my hands ( I can dream )

I waited until I got my degree and other quals so that I could pick and choose and move away somewhere...probably New York. However, just as I got my quals, before my graduation - I met my OH who has a daughter in Notts so I can't move anywhere as I still want to be with him...

But New York or the Middle to South of France....if I really had my way. Both for completely conflicting reasons - all of which are Valid.

Possibly New Zealand, but more likely just here Wales has attractions for me, I love the west coast round New Quay. As others have said, we have a great climate for growing a lot of things, and the drier 'brown' look of warmer countries doesn't really appeal!
