  • Boys!!

Last week i got a phone call at school from son of mine to say his dad was in casualty because he had slashed his hand on a can of soup!! Mad mercy dash to A & E to see his cut up hand looking like sliced meat, got him glued and stuck together, got home cleaned up the blood bath that was my kitchen!
Now today get another call at school from Mr Miffy, son of mine in casualty this time, he had gone home at lunch time to get a book for school, fallen down the stairs and knocked himself out cold.
Kept in for obs for two hours, again mad mercy dash to A & E, at home now with him watching him like a hawk, he has a massive egg on his forehead.
Just when i thought i could stop worrying about the pair of them. I feel frazzled.

Good job you kept your family small, else you'd have a nervous breakdown

Sounds like you're the person who urgently needs some TLC.

Oh Miffy, so sorry for all the horrible stuff thats coming your way, but don't you know, you never stop worrying about your kids no matter how old they are.
Hope your son will be back to normal tomorrow.
This time next week you'll be laughing about it all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I spend all my working days caring and educating other peoples children and feel so bad that my own son was lying at the bottom of the stairs on his own without me there. Feel awful about that. Really bad

Bigs hugs hon. It is the way of things with boys though. At one point I thought they were gooing to put our names on chairs in A&E. One son doing rugby the other accident prone and football mad. Recipe for disaster

I did learn to take a good book with me though

He has thankfully given up the Rugby, he was always the one at the bottom of a scrum!! Loved and hated watching him play in equal measure.

Boys will be boys so they say and I am told they never grow out of these scrapes too.
I have 2 boys so worry all the time!

Hope they both make full recoveries and I suggest a bottle of hairdye for the grey hairs that will be appearing any day soon! (I know mine are lol)

I started to go grey when i was pregnant with him would you believe, i am now completely grey way before my time, wonder why? Would rather have grey hairs than not have him though.

I can sympathise with you completely. I have two sons, one rugby obsessed and currently sidelined with injury, and the other one can be seen pursuing one of his many hobbies here

                    YouTube - CLIFF JUMPING!!

He's the one jumping. I have asked him not to tell me when he is planning stuff like this, on the basis that if I don't know, I won't worry. He's just turned 21, so it's not like I can stop him!

Son of mine is also part of our medieval re enactment group, heart in throat when he is in full kit, wielding a 3 foot long sword at someone in full plate armour with a broad sword aimed at him!!ekkk

I really sympathise with this post, I too am a teacher, and sometimes feel as though I give more of my time to other people kids than my own.
It is true also that kids of social workers and teachers have more issues with this than other peoples kids.
You just have to do the best you can, I am sure your son does not blame you for not being there, you were there as soon as you could

Not having kids means I miss out on all this 'fun' lol

                              I hope you're OK Miffy.

As for jumping off a perfectly good cliff, well, dunno what to say. I suppose if that's how you get your fun! It's also better than the things some teenagers get up to
