I have given up having my grey done at the hairdressers cos it had gone up to £47.50 every 5 to 6 weeks but seeing what piskie pays mine is cheap cos thats for cut colour and blow dry.

Ah, cheers Sarz, I thought there was only one Newquay - bit like only one Sunderland

Did you see the match last night?

I have my hair colored every 10 weeks at home and cut every 5 weeks, mum comes too and looks after the children! I pay way less than in the salon so don't think of it as a luxury at all. I am not going grey gracefully for anyone... I am not giving up my contact lenses either. Seeing is a necessity and not a luxury (and yes I do have glasses too)

I think if I had to give up the luxuries it would have to be the children - they don't pay their way, eat all my food, and are genrally a drain on my resources lol But maybe their cuteness makes up for it, and they will choose my nursing home one day so best be nice to them!

Make up and hair colouring!! When not covered in mud and chook poop I am a girly girl and do like to put some slap on before I go anywhere!! Gone are the days of buying cheapo stuff though, but even the mid-ranges not expecially cheap now.

My last hair cut cost me £7 & that included a beard trim.
My hair is still below my shoulders & I have no grey except for a bit in my beard.
I get Madderbat to tidy it up now and again.

I spend £65 on a cut and £100 on 'hide the grey stuff'. I know it's a fair amount of dosh, but the feel-good factor is worth it (for me) - even tho I never look like I have spent that amount of dosh on me barnet.
That works out at about £1000 a year or £20 a week or nearly half my JSA(until I went onto pension credits)

The only luxuries we have is a little alcohol & some tobacco!
