There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.
Things that annoy me on the road:
People who don't indicate (esp at roundabouts, when if they had, you could have pulled out, but then have to wait another 10 mins instead!);
People who let children travel without seatbelts on;
People who allow dogs to put their heads WAY out of the windows;
Inconsiderate road users generally: I get cross when people don't thank me for letting them pull out etc. as I always make an effort to be seen being courteous;
People who pull out when there's traffic still coming - blocking the carriageway and forcing people to 'let you out' (some of them even then smile and wave - as if we had any choice in the matter! although at least they're being 'courteous' I suppose!) This seems particularly prevalent in the South: Bath & Bristol;
idiots who overtake when it is quite clearly not safe.
To get back on thread , speaking for myself as a lorry driver , I appreciate when people pull out into the second lane to make room for me when I am coming down the sliproad at 44 tons and trying to get up speed to join the flow of traffic. Its not easy to time it properly and one idiot can make it a real nightmare if they decide that they ar'nt pulling out to give you space.Why is it so important to get in front of a lorry only to slow down as soon as you are past it? Then again dont pull out to pass, get up level with the cab and sit and look at me for 2 miles. If your going past ,go past and get on with it.And dont stay in the outside lane to the last minute and then decide to take the sliproad with 100 yards to go.
Must go have to put on my back-to-front coat before nurse gets here

Why the hell do lorry drivers insist on driving their lorries side by side one in the inside lane and one in the middle lane? Not just overtaking but for miles and miles!
Because weve got speed limiters which means we should all be doing 56 mph or 90 kmh.Some lorries are slightly faster because of new tyres v old tyres.So man in lorry with new tyres catches up on lorry with old tyres and decides to pass.Indicator on , look for someone to flash the lights and out he goes .Man in old tyre lorry sees what is going on but for some reason decides not to slow down slightly for a few seconds to let the other lorry past .Can you see where Im going? For miles and miles and miles

Squirrel send your son my regards. I left just before Christmas last year, not that I wanted to I was told to get another job before I had a heart attack.It wasnt "you may have" it was "you WILL have ". Ten years of stress,bad food,very little exercise and little sleep nearly caught up with me (Im only 36) . One of my mates who I started with and is the same age as me got a warning on a boat lately . He had a mild heart attack and had to be air lifted off the boat to hospital.
Thank you Beefy! He has just had a 8 month break from driving and went and 'did' computers - what an unhappy chappy he was! He is now back on the road (three weeks) and loving every minute of it. He works for a small company that delivers frozen foods to pubs and restuarants, so he gets a fair amount of exercise leaping in and out of the back of the truck. Is usually home early evening so probably eats better than you did! (I can hope the airhead he is shacked up with looks after him properly!)
Jennie you made me laugh - I can just picture you all sitting there going ' No after you, no after you...' at the roundabout! You just give way to the person on the right or if you live round here you all drive at full speed & whoever gets there first goes round first (or drives straight over the middle if it's a mini roundabout)
I was away for one or two weeks at a time on long distance work from Northern Ireland .Loads to London and fruit back out of Kent. Must go as Im getting ready to go to Rubgy right now. Should be there by4.30 am. Talk to everyone on Sunday.
Sometimes be over in Norwich lifting from Robinsons Fruit Juice.
Its good to get home at night and sit in a seat that dosen't move though!

A couple of weeks after the first mini roundabout went in I saw an old crofting chap in his Reliant Robin park up the road, walk down to the roundabout and watch everyone before he had a go himself! The drivers here are very polite but not necessarily good drivers. They are terrible for cutting the corners off when turning right.
The worst thing is getting off the ferry in Aberdeen, its right in the middle of the city. So we leave our single track, not very busy roads here and drive off the ferry right into the Aberdeen morning rush hour! Or.... fly to Gatwick, get off the plane and straight onto the M whatever and then the M25. Nightmare!
