How frustrating for you Sarzwix. As everyone has said, see your GP and lay it on big time. And maybe time for a gentle chat with OH too. It's not that men are unfeeling, it's just that they are social idiots and need things pointed out to them. Sorry guys.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Thanks everyone I've pulled myself together a bit now...

It's been a particularly frustrating week this week and today seemed like the last straw!
I'll ring the GP tomorrow and see what I can do.

Sez, you're right, small goals to work towards. Perhaps I could start with the post box at the end of the road tomorrow
I do have a backpack, but I don't think it'll manage a load of spuds, big watering trays or pots full of dead plants which need moving, not to mention trays of seedlings

sarah, go to the docs, its definatly an imergency, lay it on really thick, all your phisical stuff and then how depressed you are because of incompetant care and being house bound with 3 young children, tell them you need a second opinion and a physio app.
Funny, the random nap thing seems to be catching among the men, got that this end too, good luck.

I've just rung the surgery and my GP is on holiday til the middle of next week, so I've got an appt for the 16th.
OH is out all day today, ferrying his dad to and from clinic and then a 'getting back to work' interview thingy, then he's out all tomorrow helping a friend to grout his floor.

If the rain holds off I'm determined to do something with the greenhouse. Even if it's just throw all the pots out the door...

Yo, the nap thing is the most annoying thing ever, if all the time spent napping had been devoted to the lotties etc, everything would be done. I dunno how he thinks I managed to keep up with it all when he was working, it certainly wasn't by staying up all night and sleeping half the day! He blames it on the tablets he's on, and if I try and get him to do stuff instead of sleeping he gets a right monk on and points out that the house is tidier and cleaner than when I do it...

Oh Sarz, how frustrating!! Not much you can do about OH unless you overdose him with caffeine!! Try and get out for a little while, just don't overdo it!

Sorry to hear about your situation Sarz. My recent surgery went very well and overall I was quite pleased how quickly I got done after the original consultation (~1 month). It was a routine op though.

However, the pre-op assessment got moved after originally being told it wasn't necessary. Luckily I had booked time off work, but what gets me is that we appear to be secondary to what the NHS staff are doing. There was no apology for changing the appointment, no consideration for how this might be inconvenient. Thou shalt come to this appointment! The NHS is providing a service (free too!) but it seems to me the service is at the convenience of the almighty doctors not the patient. I always get the argument that you should put your health first and this is the overriding mantra without any concern for the individual's personal needs.

                Rant over.

In all fairness, it isn't JUST the NHS (although they are certainly among the worst). Try getting a plumber in a hurry! Gas board are a LITTLE better, because if you tell them there is a possible leak they HAVE to deal with it, but they may simply turn off your supply until it suits them to fix it.....
