Does anyone use Majestic wine merchants?

I think I visited one once - but felt out of my depth, so turned around and went home. We used to use LaithWaites/Sundat Times Wine Club and Virgin Wines, but only because we are lazy and Majestic means going out to shop for wine. We just pick up wine at the supermarket now.

Speaking of which, I had a decent bottle over the past few nights - Hardys Crest. A blend of Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Tasty, and smooth.

Near the house we're just buying, there's a Majestic about 5 minutes walk away... handy . We've used one before - I rate them.

By that I mean, any wine lovers who actually, lay down a bottle or two rather than laying down AFTER a bottle or two? ...

Going back to your original question PW, I'd say the answer is an emphatic NO!

If you like champers, try

"cuvee nappa Mumm"

instead. Its less than a tenner a bottle and is so good that Her Maj serves it at her state banquets.

It beats most of the NV champers by a country mile.

My fave non-Champers sparkler is Cloudy Bay Pelorus - not too many places seem to sell it though.

Not sure that it would grace Her Maj's table though!
