That's Crete. I recognised it from the harbour and the Samaria Gorge where I nearly died (well, it felt like it - 11 km in 90 degrees and me very unfit and with the wrong shoes) 23 years ago. -

Blimey, no wonder I nearly croaked. It was a nightmare - took me ALL DAY and all my friend kept saying was 'don't die, please don't die, I'll buy you dinner if you make it' The boat was about to leave as I got to the end and the next morning I had to crawl to the shower on my knees because I couldn't stand. For some stupid reason I thought it was going to be a walk through a flat park with grass and daisies and a gentle stream running through the middle. I lived in cloud cuckoo land in my early twenties, total doooohhhhead.Comment
