  • Didn't We Have A Lovely Day The Day We Went To Wisley!

    Hi all!

I just wanted to say a big thanks to Barleysuggar and OH for such a nice time yesterday! Thanks Ann for all your work in getting this together! Thanks to your OH for being such a sport displaying the Graps meeting point! I loved it when you put the signe on your head as a hat, Suits you sir! LOL

It was nice to meat a few people yesterday, put a few faces to some of the names on the vine! Thanks to all of you for a lovely get together especially at the lunch time seed swap Thanks for a lovely time!

Thanks to Glutton4 for the lift there and home! Jane you were a breath of fresh air and girl, you are welcome to come and see me anytime! Give me enough notice and I will cook you some Goat currry! Thanks againe.

Also RedThorne it was nice to hook up with you againe. Thanks for your company Steve! Please say hi to your OH and to you DD for me!

Well thats the well deserved thank you's out of the way 1st thing first!

I had a lovely day out, Wisley is a lovely place even this early in the year! Given another few months when all the gardens are in full swing I bet it will be a glorious sight to behold! All I can say is, that if Wisley in in easy enough for you to get to, then it is well worth the visit!

Thanks to all for a nice day out, I hope to meet you againe some time!

    xx Irie Jan

I did not take any pickies but someone did! To be honest, I think we all had a good time judging by the feed back on Barley Suggars thread! We all split up and went our own ways after the first meet up but then we bumped into people on our travels around the gardens. Quite a few of us got together for lunch and did a seed swap which was lovely!

Thanks to those of you who gave me some lovely seeds I feel bad that I was not able to swap any back! This will be my frst year at growing for a very long long time so I do not have many seeds to swap as not sure what I will be using at the moment. Also I am still trying to build up stocks! I have passed some seeds on to some people on here I hppe they are good ones for you!

Just to side track a little please!

Just to let the pass the parcel peeps know I have been told the parcle is winging its way to me sohortly! I'm looking forward to having a rummage through them to see what peeps have been adding! Thanks to all for keeping it going! I have been hanging on to some seeds to add to the parcle so as soon as I can it wil be on its way to whoever is next person! Tammy will let me know as soon as I let her know I have the seeds!

I took a few pics of the grapes present, mostly you won't be able to see who is who, even if I manage to get them loaded!

Was a brilliant day, Wisley must be a sight to behold when all the gardens come into their own later in the year! Oh and the temptation of all those fantastic plants in the shop.........

I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

That was a lovely day, can we do it again in summer and see the gardens in their full glory and so the people who couldn't make it can come along next time? Even in early March I was put to shame by how neat everything was, especially the veg garden. But then they don't have four ex-bat hens free ranging over the place with JCBs instead of feet..... and 25 professional gardeners.... and loads of volunteers helping out as well.....

Just messing about with photobucket, the one and only decent photo I took to follow
