I'm with Zazen, I like looking at pics too!
if i meet someone and want to be friends with them, then of course i make the effort and keep in touch etc ....... but it's totally different (normally) when someone adds me on facebook because that's all they do .......

Are you "Dodgy Geezer" FG?
No wonder people aren't contacting you? It's been drummed into us from an early age - stay away from dodgy geezers.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

I just see it as another method of keeping in touch and getting to know people if I've not met them in real life..yet

I added you FG and you accepted but I have more conversations with the women than I do the men ( sorry ) that doesnt mean I wouldnt say something if you posted something on there. Haywayne has put photo's on and sometimes I comment and sometimes I dont.
I dont always post a comment on anyones posts. I read them just like on here, I dont always comment. I expect you have deleted me cos we havent had a conversation.Gardening ..... begins with daybreak

Facebook just isn't my sort of thing (at least, not unless I have totally misunderstood what it is like). However, IF someone sent me a 'would like to be friends' notification, and I didn't have reason to say 'No' I would accept initially, perhaps say 'hi' and await further contact. If that was all there was to it, I might well change my mind about having accepted.
On here we keep in touch via the forum, as well as more directly. Without that, and the common interests that brought us to this place originally, I don't think I would be interested in 'finding' friends via an internet situation (keeping in touch with already-friends is another matter).Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

what would you do if a stranger added you as a friend?
or .... what should i do if a stranger adds me as a friend?
should i say "hey, great to see you on here, who are you? give me a call and we'll have a chat. fancy a beer?"
i work on the computer all day (in between joining in here and elsewhere!) and don't want my entire social life on the computer - do the facebook addicts spend all day working on computers too? or are they well away from the computer in the daytime?
