The species are commonly known as Butterfly Bush due to their attractiveness to butterflies; they are also attractive to bees and moths. Some species of buddleia with red flowers are also attractive to hummingbirds.

Has to be begonias for me, and horrid regimented borders with not a scrap of weed in sight. Don't mind the red pelargoniums in the right situ but not very keen on hybrid mutli coloured fussy flowers. Native natural stuff for me.

Hi all! It's been amazing the variety of plants that we will not allow in our gardens,we don't all agree,piskie and redthorn especially! but who watched Carols gardening plant addiction prog. earlier? I was amazed at the styles and likes of all the different gardeners especially the lady in London whose garden Carole could tell a mile off which was crammed with every style and variety of plant you could imagine. If she liked it she had to buy it and fit in her garden.Beautiful.Which brings it back to the ideal that if you love it, grow it. Gardening is such a personal taste thing but don't expect everyone else to be so enthusiastic!!!! So, back to putting in pansies.. and the odd grass or two!!
