The BBC is getting in on the advertising act. Not for goods, but programmes, between every programme they show the same clip time and time again. Time to end I says!!!!!
snadger always observed the 30mph limit didn't need the advert but i guess it does what it set out to do which is a very good thing.
Must admit, I didn't always observe the 30mph limit, used to travel in the mid thirties thinking there was always 'flatter' on the speedo. Because of this ad though I now travel 'bang on' 30mph. If the ad saves one life its done its job!

Being a biker (as well as an MG owner!) I think the one they've recently re-introduced where the guy in the car doesn't see the biker and it shows the accident, serves as an excellent reminder to all us car drivers to keep our eyes peeled for bikers! DDL

Sorry DDL I just had a vision of you on your bike with Dexter on the back with his paws on your shoulders! Lol
Out of interest.......In Sorrento I saw a man on a scooter trying to light a cigarrette while he was driving and he had a pig wedged across the scooter in front of his legs!
Nothing to do with the original thread...but there goes.........

Bless! no Dexter doesn't go out on the bike!
BUT - on the way up to the Lakes a few years ago - OH and I were in the car (Dexter in the back!) we went around a roundabout and came behind another estate car. Nothing unusual you would think!
Except there was a SHEEP in the back! Just like a dog! Never forgotten it! DDL

Ooh, DDL - which MG have you got? OH had an MG Midget when we met, soon had to get rid coz of the growing belly Now we have a collection of older cars - I have a MK1 Golf GTi Cabrio, we have a few Rover SD1's, eldest son (created in the midget - honestly) has a 1983 mini convertible and youngest son has a Volvo P1800s awaiting restoration!!
Love MG's though, my dad had one when I was small!!!
OH always goes on about getting a cruiser bike but I won't let him because drivers round here are blind as bats and bikers get the rough end of that one!
Hi Shirley! yes, I was brought up on (old) MGs, Austin Healeys etc etc.
We've also had a few Capris and I've also had an MGBGT which some bloke very kindly wrote off for me - then I got "Henry". "Henry" is a Mark I MG Midget, 1964. The last owner spent £8,000 doing him up - I have all the reciepts and photos to prove it! Unfortunately, I havent used him for the last two summers (for one reason or another!) and so am looking to sell him as it's not fair having him shut away doing nothing. Aw well! if you know anyone who wants him.....................DDL

Why on earth don't you use Henry? (Glad I am not the only one to name cars - my golf is called 'Flossie') - I had Flossie restored two years ago and was a bit precious about driving it in case it got stone chips or whatever. But then I decided if I didn't get out and enjoy the car what was the point in having it?!
Hi Shirley - Henry has had a (slight as we've just found out!) gearbox problem. Now he needs an MOT and with the dark nights, long hours at work etc. it looks like it's going to be next year before he gets MOT'd and on the road, or sold! Never mind - I think he's staying put for the time being. DDL

To go back a few posts, the load ad that Carol Vorderman (is that how you spell it?) does are vary annoying, there was a web based petition asking her not to do them anymore for the reasons already given. It got a phenominal number of names but she didn't take any notice and her PA said something about it being a good product etc etc. So basically, as we all know she's an intelligent woman, she obviously doesn't care - something to think about when she's taking two from the top or whatever she does on Countdown.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
