A nice pint of booze

My first and regular beer was "Phipps Bison" brown ale in a bottle,sadly Watneys bought the brewery and the pub,Bakers Arms in Blaby,the beer was never any good after that.
I worked behind the bar in a big pub and saw that all the "slops" pulled off to clear the pipes was put back in the "mild" as it was dark and no one would notice the lager and bitter that went into it,sort of put me off it a bit.

Have heard that before,, but strangely it never bothered me,,which for me is unusual,, it is not like it has been in a glass or owt,, Watneys,,,,,,,,,,,,blimey that takes me back, bricklayers arms,, was only about 6 but in those days you could go in a pub for a coke and as long as you were well behaved no one minded,,

My Scouse Uncle ( now sadly departed and much missed) always enjoyed a pint of mild, I always used to buy him some tins fro tesco when he came down this neck of the woods.
Prefer the local ale meself.

Now that's a nice one! Ever tried the beers and barley wine from the Orkney brewery? Dark Island is good, so is Raven Ale (although I prefer the darker one). My favourite is the one called Skullsplitter, a barley wine. While it is seriously strong, the name comes from a Viking warrior of old "Eric Skullsplitter".

Actually, just remembered - my days as a barman I drank Molson Dry. Haven't tried that in years. In actual fact I'm not sure I've seen it for years either.

I remember a little fad that we had at parties of making a "chocolate orange" drink. Mix one shot of Tia Maria/Kaluha and one bottle of Britvic orange et voila, Terry's Cholocalte orange in a drink with a kick.

Yeah, but it comes in half-size bottles, so similar amounts per bottle<g> You just have to drink less of it!

Although I come from Manchester, I've always preferred Robinsons to Boddingtons. But I think the best pint I've ever had was in the bar of the Bass Museum, Burton on Trent

Aye - t'is a Canadian beer. Haven't seen it for ages - used to really like the bottle.
