  • Now this is going to sound daft...

    but bare with me.

When making up a flask of tea/coffee - do you put the milk and sugar in?

This thought struck me last night when I found a garden gift set that I'd been bought by my Brother-in-law and his girlfriend which included one of those trendy flask/cups.

I never use a flask (other than at the office to hold some boiled water for my 'erbal teas), and probably wouldn't use one on the plot - I'm more likely to take a litre bottle of water as I can get quiite a thirst on.

I'll be in teh corner with the pointy hat on.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends who it may be shared with really. Best way round the problem is flask of boiling water and all other stuff packed up separately

Inclined to agree on the water though - I drink tea or coffee in the morning then switch to water for the body of the day.

On the rare occasions when I take a flask of hot drink along, I take a second flask (one of those cheap plastic ones sold for kids' lunch boxes) with milk in that!

I don't need a flask for the lottie as I am only 5 mins walk from home.
But I do drink the tap water provided on site.

I was half expecting you to have posted that you have a flask filled with your favourite ale!

I take aflask of water to the beach in the summer along with tea bags, coffee, milk and sugar it ,can be a bit of a fiddle but I hate milk added to coffee in a flask. Or I take it black and add the milk when I drink it but not in the cup, I have to take a mug cant drink out of flask cups yuk. At the lottie I have a camping stove and a kettle in the shed and take water and milk with me, coffee and sweetners kept in the shed as well.

All in for me too. I usually make up a flask of coffee when I'm driving on long journeys as I need a pick me up half way and otherwise I'll spend a good £10 in Costa.

Long journeys-made up- but it does tend to curdle after about 8 hrs

I make the tea in a mug with the right quantities and then pour that in the flask, cant have a flask with the incorrect ratio off milk/sugar .

I put the milk in coffee (don't take sugar in either) but not in tea. Coffee matures, I think, but tea just tasted stewed, even though there are no tea-leaves/tea bag in. For tea I'd take a flask almost full of hot water, the milk separately, and when I want a brew, I add the tea bag/s to the flask at that point. Leave a few mins to brew, then pour and put the milk in as usual.

I use a flask for lottie (when I have it back) and also for Thursdays at College.

I put boliing water in the flask for 20 mins (to heat flask) then make tea (in a tea pot with leaves), then pour into flask - I don't take milk or sugar - simples*

i always think tea from a flask has a weird colour, but if i shut my eyes i don't notice ... i also make it in a mug with tea bags (sorry piskie i'm a heathen) and add milk and sugar then pour it into a hot flask
