Done it three times DDL! ..think its time to hang up my trainers now!

Often wondered what a fiull marathon would be like though?

If when I hit the finish line they told me I had to run back again I would have been well gutted!!!!!

My other half is running in a hill race near Bala today. I expect he'd be nearly finished by now.

Hill running...now theres a sport.!! Once climbed a mountain in the lake district, was standing out of breath at the top when this hillrunner came over the top at full pelt without stopping, said hello then proceded to run along the ridge of the mountains, there wasnt an ounce of fat on him, he wasn't out of breath and he had a rucksack on his back! Stood and watched him for five minutes as he disappeared over the far horizon.

          Fit as a lop!

His dinner must have bean ready!!Lol

Bala now theres a nice part of the world.Used to come from Bangor out to Bala .Lovely drive for cars but a bit hairy in a lorry got to watch the twisty bits.Used to deliver pork to a butchers shop there about 8 years ago. Good luck to all those taking part in the Great North Run and hope there are no fatalities like last year.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

I'm a lazy person really - never could quite understand those folks who like running! Stick a space or a fork in my hand and I'm happy! Well, that and the upper body workout - ie. close hand around pint glass, lift glass carefully to mouth, drink and return glass to table! DDL

I've just started "running" again after 10 years of not. I've started training for a 10K run at Tatton next Sept for Cancer Research UK. I've done a fewRace for Life runs recently, but walked half of the way. So respect and congratulations to all who are running today, especially those barmy folk who run up hills. That's what chair lifts are for!

OH is back safely - ran about 7 miles up and down in boggy terrain and rain. Took him about 1 hour 20 but doesn't know for sure yet - think times will be posted on the running club's website.

I used to jog and my friend and I entered the local 10 mile event. Everyone had packed up and gone home when we finished ........

Gosh I remember Marathon Bars... before they became American and were named Snickers (I say that last word carefully around Nick and Snadger)
