I usually click Multi Quote on each message i want to quote, then click Quote on the last one, and it takes you to the Advanced page with all the quotes on.
Something that i think people miss when deleting bits of Quotes is that they accidentally delete the last ']' which is part of the code to make it a proper quote...

You can actually do either, the only difference is that if you click the multiquote button on a post it turns orange, so that you know what's on your "list" of quotes.

I often go in and add it back into people's posts....to make it work again.
