  • Please ignore me

I got an email from a client at 2050hrs last night 'urgent job for tomorrow' .... 'tomorrow' is my college day

So I ping her back and say can it wait until Friday. Not really, she says, but you could just send 'em all emails and chase up when you get back.

    This would mean me:
    - engaging brain
    - compiling stuff
    - writing stuff
    - sending stuff
    - finding clothes,
    - feeding kittens
    - emptying pooy kittens tray
    - making flask (using a teapot Wayne!)
    - making sarnies
    - sorting supper for when I get back
    ...BEFORE 0830hrs

So I phone College and say I can't get in today ignore me, I'm just feeling sorry for myself

there is always a plus side isn't there!

Postie has just brought a pile of plug plants that I ordered, I shall shortly be found in the greenhouse potting these babies up, mobile on bench, flask by my side.

Remote working really is the way forward you know - 'they' never know where you are and mostly don't care as long as the job gets done

hmmmm ..... i do work for clients when *i* want to, not when they want me to ......
and if they don't like it, they can find someone else who's prepared to put up with their nonsense ....

hum, sounds good but if I did take that thought they would find someone else and I would lose the work/life style that I enjoy so much.

I guess a healthy balance is to be sort, which in light of my plug plants, mobile, flask comment above is a healthy balance - client will get his work done, I get to plant stuff - only thing I don't get is my day at College, but Teach has said she will email me all the notes and homework

I would have been tempted to tell client that my pooter had crashed and burned and I would send emails later when all back up and running - then pootle off to college
