  • My poor cat...

I have one very sorry-for-itself cat on the bed at the moment

He went out for a few mins last night as usual just before bed time and we suddenly heard howling and one heck of a cat fight going on.
OH took the torch and went out to see what was going on....( our cat bullies the 2 female cats next door) ..only to be confronted with a massive white tom cat attacking our cat...twice the size...more like a white small dog!!!!!( if it had been black I'd have thought it was the 'beast of Bodmin' over here on it's hols!!!!)

Well- OH had to grab ours out from under the car and bring him in. He's limping like mad with his front right leg, but was able to use it in the litter tray and jumping up and down off the sofa. Pulled a shoulder muscle I reckon....this morning his neck was a bit stiff until he moved it around a bit.
Poor lad looks like I feel like after digging in the lottie!!!
Nothing seems broken ( I've had a good wiggle)and can't see puncture wounds- but he's clearly very sore..and had his pride more than injured. Never seen that cat before - so there must be a couple of ferule toms around here.
Vets next week for vaccinations anyway- but i'll go earlier if he's no better/worse...poor Hewi x

I have to let me little kittens out tomorrow (first time ) as they are now fully jabbed up - I have to admit to being a touch anxious about it

Piskie they will be fine its sweet watching them going out for the first time, they are very nervous poking their little faces outside then running back in at the first noise they hear. 0urs is 8 years old ish and still does this.
Take pics cos we will want to see them.

My old boy Esev is geting on now but he still refuses to walk away from a fight he carries on like he is 5 not 105. I have had him for 15 years now so at the rate of 1 of our years = 7 of his he really aught to slow down a bit more! Nicos I hope your cat feels better soon!

And Piskie Imsure your babies will be fine as long as they can see mummy and have an open door torun back in the house! A bless em all!!

Poor cat! Bet he feels a right wuss.

Our boy (neutered) cat is terrible at sticking up for himself, makes a lot of noise and that's about it. There are 2 cats that feel they own our garden too, they are now even chasing our cats into the house. The only thing stopping them from coming too is the fact that our cats have a magnet on their collars to let themselves in through the flap. Dreading summer when the doors will all be open.

Make sure you have your cat checked out as our Jasper had a nasty cyst thing that burst, caused by a cat bite, had 2 days in the vets, huge bill, and LOTS of stitches and a drain thing in his leg a few years ago. We didn't know he's been bitten cos of the fur. Luckily he is insured.

                Hope your cat is ok.

We always know if Samsam has lost, he is a very sad cat for a few days. He sprung a surprise burst cyst on us as well - right in the middle of his chest - I only noticed because he was feverishly grooming, and it is the most difficult place for a cat to get to (and funny to watch unfortunately).

Piskie, lovely when they first go out - but beware - Samsam decided last night that me and OH really needed a live mouse in the bedroom, and 'lost' it in a pair of OH trousers that were on the floor. We caught it and released it safely.

Just been chatting to a neighbour- and spotted what I thought were feathers on the lawn...turned out to be a pile of white fur!!!! No black fur in site ( Hewi's colour) ...so maybe he sort of won????...I'll check him over again for bites though- thanks- cos he's due his boosters next week and I have a feeling they won't do them if he's on antibiotics

Oh poor thing! Hope he's on the road to recovery. Maybe buy/make him a special little treat to cheer him up - his favourite supper or something!

I'd make him join a Boxing Club to get rid of some of his built-up-angst

Well I did give him a crushed leaf of catmint - and he just sniffed it.
Will sprinkle catnip on the floor when he decides to move. ( he's hogging my pillow...hope he's not picked up some fleas off the mangy cat!!)

He'd normally be outside with me as it's such a lovely day. I'll see if I can move him later for a bit of 'safe' company outside.

Poor boy. Mine will know the feeling well. Keep an eye out for swellings in a couple of days. I couldn't see puncture wounds on Rosco, either, but 5 days later and an abscess burst all over his face. Oh how I loved cleaning that last thing at night and first thing in the morning.

If he does go off-colour, don't worry unduly - once the abscess has burst (if he has one!) he'll feel right as rain. If one should burst out (it takes literally 12hrs max, from formation), he won't need antibiotics, either. It's contra-indicative to give them after the abscess has matured, as the immune system is already on top of things at that point. It's just a question of draining it and keeping the drain hole open and clean.

Oh I am the abscess queen... Hope he's ok.
