        Pay off debts
        Pay off mortgage
Knock down current house and build super eco house in it's place

Carry on working though unfortunately, cos 1 million is not enough to retire on given that I'm only 29!!

          I don't get that??
even at 3% (about the best you can get at the mo) £1,000,000 is still worth £30,000 a year in interest alone.

But we'd have spent most of the 1million paying off debts and mortgage and building a new eco house

Now, if we didn't pay anything off, then we could probably live on it nicely. However, I'd rather pay off the debts then go back to work for a while than not, IYSWIM

I'd buy a nice big house mortage free which would probably use up two thirds. The rest I'd use on having nice holidays for however many years it lasted and other fun family things.

My dream would be to be able to afford to buy a property with a few acres of land on the edge of a rural village and run a smallholding.

It won't happen from winning the lottery though because I have never taken part,if it ever happens it will be down to my own efforts.

It's too big (and needs too much work) for me to do it all myself, but I could project manage while strong young men did it for me :-)
If your dear old Mum's garden is too big why not fence part of it off for her to enjoy and rent out the rest to some locals who want to grow some veg and give your Mum some of the produce as part of the agreement??

                    Just a thought
