Slightly off at a tangent but one of the advantages of the current recesion is that developers have stopped putting notes through my door asking if I want to sell my veg. plot. The last offer I recieved was for £120,000.00 at about this time last year. I always tell them, 'it will never be for sale'. (Can't stand the garden grabbers).

To me, my veg. plot and the lottie are priceless. It's not just the savings made by growing your own it's the enjoyment and satisfaction that the hobby brings me that makes it so worth while.

Absolutely right, Matt. I very much doubt I would have bought any at all at those prices, never mind 300 quid's worth. I just worked it out because I was so astonished at the price I saw. Just imagine how much a jar of homemade raspberry jam would cost if you bought the berries from the supermarket. Madness.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
