Very sad. She was a bit of a monster, and would probably have been a nightmare to live with, but she was very lovable, all the same.

You dont have to have "iffy behaviour" to get the HIV bug that causes this awful disease. Don't automatically assume that to get this youve slept around in the past.

Not sure what bug it is, just meant that you dont necessarily have to have slept around to catch woteva it is that causes this disease!
          PS Thanks 2 sheds! :-)

It's the HPV bug, and girls can now get vaccinated against it. You can catch HPV on your first sexual encounter (you don't have to sleep around).

It also may cause Mouth Cancer (there's another thread about that, calling for boys to be vaccinated too.... after all, they are the ones that are infecting girls).

I thought what was meant by 'iffy behaviour' was the lack of tolerance shown on 'Celebrity BB' etc, not her sex life.

You don't have to sleep around to get it; but it helps. Males are the carriers of this virus so Nuns and celibate women don't get cervical cancer (because they don't come into contact with the virus). As people are having sex younger and experimenting with more partners then the age of people becoming infected is getting younger. That's why some medics are calling for vaccination at an earlier age. Using condoms is a good idea whatever your age.
My MILs neigbour has been a widow THREE times - all his wives died of cervical cancer. I'd like to think I'd have been a bit clued up if I were his last wife, but if no one told her how was she to know?
Always use condoms and always ask "what did your last wife die of?" is my advice.

I wasn't a fan but my heart goes out to her family, especially her two very young sons.

I had to turn off the news coverage today, it being mothers day and the first without my own mum.

Her plight has at least got me of my cowardly bottom and book for next week what I'd rather put off until never. RIP

RIP Jade, she wasn't my cup of tea but noone deserves that, especially so young and with such a young family. xx

The sad part is she came from a very rundown estate in Bermondsey (I know it well), with nothing and made millions.
Now she hasn't the the time to enjoy it.
It shows that with some luck and a bit of getup and go you can improve your life and that of your family.

I am glad she got to spend her last days fulfilling her wishes (marriage, christenings etc) and then spend her final hours at her home with her boys. At peace now.

Love her or hate her, you certainly couldn't ignore her!

Jade Goody has done a lot of good by making a lot of women get checked out for this terrible disease, a lot of young girls now know about cervical cancer more than any nurse, doctor or book could ever explain. My own daughter ( 12 ) is in the process of having the injections ( 2 down 1 to go ) to start with she didnt understand why it was necessary, she now understands.
So I say thank you Jade for giving so many young girls the information they so badly needed, I am so sorry you had to die for them to understand and your boys are now without their lovly mum. RIP.

Correct, I don't know about the latter.
