Definitely from the front - how else would the chambermaids be able to show off the twiddly foldy thing they do with the end in posh hotels? (Not that I stop in posh hotels...)

According to this one it is mainly the lower classes that hang their loo roll to the front. I always knew I had breeding.

MB - that is brilliant! must show it to my OH who insists that the paper should hang down the front! mind you, my headmisstress mate (who has cleaners!) they (the cleaners!) hang it from the front then put the little pointy pleat to show they have cleaned their loo! get a life I say! DDL

What about having it standing on the floor, saves you having to buying and fitting a toilet roll holder.

I don't think hubby knows how to change the loo roll. More often than not, the loo roll is positioned vertical on top of the loo roll holder.

Your OH is not alone with his vertical tendencies - I have to confess I'm the same - must be a guy's thing !

I have always hung mine with the paper bit down the back! Was told it does not run away with itself when you give it a good yank then!
