    No with a capital N,

It will just cause friction between members if things go wrong, Ebay has a whole dispute section for when things go wrong, we just dont have the time or resources. Worse of all, how do you mediate between peeps who are in dispute over delivery, descriptions etc.

Ebay and freecycle are well established sites and deal with the whole situation far better than we can.

      Sorry, absolutely not.

Can I just point out that this is a forum provided by a magazine. They provide links to advertisers who are trying to sell stuff. Whatever the 'members' [registered users] thought about it...they're not going to jeopardise income by providing a board where registered users can sell stuff....and potentially end up in court when one user decided it's the magazine's fault for providing the board in the first place.

It won't happen, it's not a good idea and you'll not get people to moderate it and leave themselves liable to criticism/grief as a result.

I say No as well, just too open to abuse. Swop or free to a good home is enough and even that can cause all sorts of problems.

A definite no. I have seen this turn forums into war zones when people start taking sides over arguments. This forum is friendly and informative so I hope it stays that way.

Absolutely no, would be loads more trouble than it would be worth, Ebay and Freecycle are the way to go IMHO.

You'd have to ask the new mods, I for one would be outta here! I'm sure PW would be holding the door open for me.

It's hard enough keeping an eye on seed swaps on here, with all the shenanigans [what a great word], blitzing the spammers [who would make a beeline RIGHT into any sales/swap board], sorting out incidents, asking for advice on posting photos, royal mail posting options, moaning if you've deleted a thread because it doesn't match a rule or doesn't seem kosher, and that's before you even get to anyone sending anything in the post.

I got a headache just thinking about it when I read the original post.

I don't think it's a good idea either. There's plenty of places to sell stuff, but this is not one of them .
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

I would be against it - we already have a swap area for seeds and plants. Even this has been abused by serial grabbers. It's a minefield.
Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I would be against it too, its great to swap seeds but to enter the world of selling on here is another thing, stick to ebay!!!!

We would just be invaded by people who are not interested in the forum, just making a quick buck!

I would say no as postage/payment can be a real nightmare. However what I have seen on other forums is a bargains galore section where people post links for freebie things and such like. I have managed to get loads of seeds, discounts off goods, free seed potatoes etc etc just by following the links. How about that ???
