  • Off to my Lottie

I cant stand not going to the lottie anymore the sun is shining and I have decided as I can drive again now I am going to spend the day at the lottie, daughter going to The Eden Project with school today and wont be home till 6pm so I have the whole day to do as I please. I promise to be careful and not do anything that will affect my hand.
I havent been able to do anything at the lottie for a month so lots of little jobs I can manage and I can leave any big jobs till the weekend when OH can help me if I can persuade him to help.
OHHHHHHHHHHHH I am all excited ( how sad )

I have had a brilliant day. I got my bits together and off I went stopped off at Asda to get bottles of water ( OH decided to recycle the bottles I had lol ) and a sandwich as I didnt have any thing at home ( well other than cheese ) then remembered that I had left my beetroot plants at home so I had to go back and get them. ( only round the corner from Asda ) I cut all the purple sprouting broccoli and dug over the area. I took my time and kept stopping for a rest and coffee. Went for a walk round the site and had a chat with a couple. Put up some netting for my peas, sowed some more broadbeans as I didnt put many in last autum.
I didnt get home till after 4pm and I am shattered I have had a bath ( long soak ) my face feels warm so I have probably caught the sun.
I am going to go back again tomorrow weather permitting.
What a wonderful day I am well chuffed lol

lovely to hear everyone enjoying this weather. I have dug and dug and ...edged my plot have gained at least a foot. Exchanged banter with my tenant who has the other end of my plot tidied up some sweet wiliam and pulled up some leeks . Chatted to a couple of the old boys and sat and had my lunch. sowed some spring onions and radish. Best moment was when a blackbird hopped right up to me looking for worms
lovely day and love my allotment

In future try making yourself a lottie meal. Your PSB quick boiled in a pan on a small gas stove in the allotment shed and eaten on a seat in the sunshine with lashings of butter and black pepper with a bit of french loaf would have been a feast fit for a queen!

Allotment broth is my favourite through the winter though!
