I can understand that you dont want to talk about personal stuff here, plenty of stuff I wouldnt mention, some stuff I do.
I feel there is room for everyone, certainly enough sections to cover most things
being a total lazy sleezer (actually business with work!) ditto 'er above
tbh I use my mouse like the TV remote, if I dont like something I dont have to read it. For instance I dont keep chickens so I rarely notice the rule the roost threads. They all seem to be about chicken shite as far as I can see
Keeping chickens is a bit like having babies - some folks just want to coo over cute photos but at the end of the day it's all about cleaning up after the incontinent little so-and-so's
If things are kept to gardening topics wouldnt they be in the gardening section, not the General Chat? GC does what it says on the tin, its general.
Hear, hear! TBH I don't look in GC often, as I mainly visit the Vine to talk about gardening. If I do and a topic's about something I'm not interested in, I just ignore it...
I've been having a bit of a break from the computer in general for a week or so as I was feeling a bit down & decided to spend some time actually gardening instead of just talking about it! Does you the world of good to get out in the fresh air. I take peoples point about there being a lot of chat on here now, there was very little when I first joined, most of it was confined to the 'Sunday night chat' & I didn't tend to go online then. That said I still think there's lots of good advice on here & there is room for general chat, the only problem is I tend to get carried away reading it all & don't notice how long I've been online!
hey steady on, that's a bit rich from someone who was condoning a discussion concerning a potential 'affair'
Don't start another thread about potential affairs, I believe that was why Lynda66 went off in a huff because peeps were saying things she did'nt like.
Gardening should always be a pleasure and never a chore, only someone forgot to tell the weeds
"If you don't have a plan, a goal for yourself, then you are almost certainly a part of someone else's"
"The only thing that will stop you from fulfilling your dream is you"
I think this is a suitable place for gardeners to chat. We all love gardening so have lots in common already. You would hardly meet fellow gardeners elsewhere would you.!
As I said on various threads recently, the only real solution would be to close the General Chat thread altogether, which would in my opinion, lose more than it gained.
So, I'm closing this thread, as the subject has been discussed debated and argued about recently, and nothing is to be gained by going over old ground.
