  • Lost the Thread - B&Q Root Trainers - help!?

I was reading a thread the other day about problems someone was having with cheap B&Q Root Trainers (it was solved) and I wondered whether anyone knows a)how cheap and b)whether they're still available?

I need some but our nearest B&Q is 30 mins away so wouldn't want to make that effort for a tiny saving but could justify a detour on the way elsewhere if it was a decent one...

Couldn't find any at all on their website!

    Thanks all

I treated myself to £8 root trainers for my sweet peas ... and to be totally honest, the ones I grew in loo rolls did much, much better.

The smaller ones were £3.99 a couple of weeks back. I got 3 but that's all they had.

I don't think it would be worth a round trip as they are probably gone by now. If you want to find out, try calling the store.

      But, as Two_Sheds said...loo rolls are a good investment @ £zero

Ha! I knew you'd say that

The trouble is all our loo roll inners get recycled into rockets, houses for fairies etc etc before I even know that it's been finished

I can see that I'm going to have to work out a cunning early warning system (gets thinking cap on...)

        Thanks for the info though

OH has just bought better loo roll, so we don't need to use as much . I almost picked up some seed trays and inner dividers today at B&Q, but decided against. (They did have root trainers, but I didn't take note of how much they were.) I was pleased because when I went to Wilkinson's the same quality ones were half the price. Makes a change for me to make the right decision.

I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

As we both work and don't have sprogs we don't actually get through many loo rolls so it's not much of an option for me (a whole year's collection wouldn't be enough for all my beans, let along sweet corn etc!). Bought a set of root trainers from a show a few years ago and I love them. Have since bought some more and find them really really good for long rooted things and they're also easy to transport in and out during hardening off (I'd topple loo rolls over being of the clumsy persuaision). If you look after them then they'll last years so, although initially a bit expensive they're more than worth it.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

They're 3.99 for 7 root trainers at B&Q. My store had bloody loads of them.
