    If still basically 'sound' an old duvet makes a cheaper alternative to a mattress topper. I only need to extra softness under my shoulders, so I have an old quilt folded to quarters under the bottom sheet.
    Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

      I've got a beautiful old (germoline pink coloured tho! ) feather down from the 1960s..... I had it drycleaned (cost more than the quilt!) and use it as a comfort blanket when sat watching the TV !
