I am trying not to go to tesco to save money and cos I don't like giving them my money. Trouble is I think I am spending more by going to several shops instead and if I go to co-op it's further to drive, less choice and more expensive.

                    Hi Andrea,

Thanks for the link, already seen that site, just thought it might be a good thread for grapes to share personal money saving techniques, tried and trusted so to speak. Sure we are all aware of the obvious ones as previous grapes have posted.

                    Thanks everyone for your contribution

We bought cheap to run LED bulbs to replace our kitchen ones as they blew. Don't bother - we now have to put them all on and carry a torch because they're useless

As for the phone-if you have a computer use skype instead.
As for energy saving bulbs-I will NEVER get them again-bought 4 of them for the kichen a couple of years ago-one of them popped after a month, with the other one following shortly.I paid about £7 for each-guess it wasn't the best buy in my life...

Some LED 'bulbs' are only intended for 'mood' lighting. For that they are geat. The ones which are fit to use for 'real' lighting are hard to find! Wickes only seem to sell the 1W 'mood lighting' type, but you can find the other sort online (about 5W should be pretty good) they will only replace the halogen type things, which at present we don't have, but I have plans for Spain......
The other advantage of LEDs over halogens is that because they use a lot les electricity, they don't overheat, so you don't need to leave gaps in your roof insulation if they are installed in an upstairs ceiling.......
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

Ditch the credit cards and use cash - it makes you think twice about spending it.
